Sound artist and recording engineer John Hannon raises the curtain on his Libirez project for this experimental and perplexing effort for Night School Records. With the help of Nina Bosnic on vocals and Pete Wilkins on percussion, Hannon brings together a selection of field recordings, harsh industrial textures, warped instrumentation and swollen vocal snippets to create a twisted opus that sounds both primitive and cutting-edge. Across 9 tracks, flashes of melody come and go but the overarching machinery that powers the sound keeps chugging forward. An unrelenting, intense, but seriously rewarding long-player.
