Manchester based club night and label venture meandyou continue to go from strength to strength with their third release from founder, resident and producer Herron. Following contributions to the inaugural Palace EP and the various artists release on Workshop, The Night Garden EP crystallises the artists’ tastes for an exploratory five-track release. Opener ‘Dismantling The House’ embalms a deep tribal swing with probing synth prods, followed by brittle hi-hats and long drawn strings on ‘Feet First’ and ‘Minor Hazard’, a dub-heavy, ambient-leaning piece that stalks a bottomless abyss. The mood carries through to the similarly sunken, droning number ‘Force Of Habit’, rounding off with the over-driven, broken-drum cacophony of ‘Venture’.
