Swiss-born, Nepalese-Tibetan electronic producer Aisha Devi makes her Houndstooth debut with 'Concious Cunt.' A three track EP exploring spirituality and femininity. In her own words, "It's an EP about sluts, awareness, death and women in a patriarchal society." Lead track Kim & The Wheel of Life comes on like an ayahuasca haze, a growing tapestry of synthesisers and echoing kicks spiraling towards a dark, vocal-centric rumble. Continuing its meditative electronic whirr, the beatless Aurat sees the Urdu/Hindi poem written by Pakistani feminist Kishwar Naheed delivered with shaking, vocoder grace. The slow building A Saviour on Spilled Blood continues her astonishing use of voice as low, shadow-strewn chanting dances through morphing leftfield electronica. A compelling pre-curser to her debut album due later this year.
