St Petersburg artist Kirill Sergeev alias Kito Jempere releases his first EP on Let’s Play House, backed by an excellent rework from Lobster Theremin affiliate Palms Trax. We got the first taste of how well Sergeev is suited to the Brooklyn-based label with Let’s Play House co-founder Jacques Renault’s blissful remix of ‘Emotion’, taken from Sergeev’s 2014 debut album on his own Fata Morgana imprint. ‘Amended Wonders’ yields equal magic — ‘Kusya’ opens with bold bassy synth work and nicely reverberant claps; ‘Kiya Kiya’ samples the beautiful drumming of Nigerian musician Babatunde Olatunji on his track of the same name, which Palms Trax’ translates into feather light xylophone playing on his interpretation.
