NYC duo BLONDES offer an EP of transcendent techno for regular home RVNG Intl. While BLONDES’ music is born out of live performance, weekend-long studio binges, and improvisational practices, their skill has always been in refining, fine-tuning, and editing their tracks: these aren’t ‘jams’ or ‘sketches’ but full club tracks with a sense of purpose and direction. The enveloping synths of title track ‘Persuasion’ gradually unfold into ecstasy, while the epic ‘Son’ features drowned vocal samples and clocks in at just under 10 minutes. Rounding out the release is ‘Inner Motive’, a heavy, chugging thing where everything seems to be constantly in flux.
