German imprint Raster Noton present a solid remix package stripped from Uwe Schmidt’s acclaimed Atom™ LP HD. Whilst the LP itself deals with the deconstruction and futuristic reassembly of modern pop music, ‘Riding The Void’ marks one of the album’s more ‘floor focused pieces that mobilizes polished electronic noise into a slick yet sterile groove with plenty of nods to Kraftwerk along the way. Up steps Hotflush boss Scuba who sharpens the cut’s focus for the club, hulking up the kick drum with a hefty dollop of reverb whilst the ‘Nought’ remix sets a moodier tone and retains its grooving essence.
