Another fine release from Floating Points’ and Alexander Nut’s joint Eglo records venture with Dego & Kaidi (Bugz In The Attic) following up their 2014 self-titled debut here with EP 2. It is another collection of slick, broken-beat goodness spiked with classy, future jazz touches, starting with the soulful bump of ‘Black Is Key’, pursued by ‘Man Made’ with its clever clash of warm chords and frustrated percussive shuffle. On the other side, ‘Orbiting Uhura’ flaunts a outer planetary afro-futurist edge, decked out in a coating of smooth summer haze, whilst ‘The Vault Descends’ wraps up the EP perfectly with its tightly wound, funked-out arrangement.
