A favourite among fans of the ‘You Got The Love’ singer, Candi Staton’s 1982 LP Nightlites now gets the reissue treatment courtesy of Sanctuary Records. Nightlites finds Staton blending originals with covers of songs like ‘Sunshine Of Your Love’ and ‘Suspicious Minds’. No matter who was behind writing the material everything here is delivered with a polished 80’s soul sheen, one that draws heavily on disco, r ‘n’ b and lover’s rock.
