Ghostband drops a quickfire mini-LP of rapidly evolving glitch and breakbeat structured electronic chaos for Valhallic. With his roots buried within Anticon from the off we knew this solo drop would be well worth a look in and the six tracks on offer make us glad we did. Throughout there is a feeling of the computers going out the window albeit with a soundtrack of electro with added drumfunk samples and cut up breakbeats rattling up against the real time hardware drum sounds top dizzying effect. Occasional a fully fledged amen slips through the carefully constructed maze of machines that adds an extra layer to the chaotic framework. It would be easy to draw comparisons to Venetian Snares or Bogdan Raczynski and while it does sound like these guys at its core there is a semi sci-fi feel that despite the walls falling down creates a feeling of weightlessness within each note. If you are into the industrial chiptune of Turning Circuits or the roll one up choppage of Equinox this is well worth spending some time with.
