German imprint Ovular digs deep into the archives, getting their fingers grubby and presenting this joyous, riveting collection of early Pakistani dance music from the late 60’s to the early 70’s. Tastefully compiled by Florian Pittner from a range of vintage 7”, each of these pieces exhibit an often-overlooked area of sizzling, guitar-driven instrumentals that provided a memorable musical backing to the countless Lollywood classics. Ingrained with a feel of intoxicated psychedelia, these pieces offer a rawer, freaked-out, DIY alternative to the more polished (and well known) Bollywood soundtracks.
