The classic orchestral soundtrack for Ralph Bakshi’s 1978 animated film adaptation of Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings in a long awaited vinyl reissue, composed and conducted by Oscar-winning composer Leonard Rosenberg (1924-2008). The soundtrack was originally released by the still-running San-Francisco record label Fantasy which put out records of the likes of Dave Brubeck and Chet Baker, and after the 2001 CD reissue, they are now taking charge of the vinyl repress as well. The expressive soundtrack comes with a number of ephemera, including a map of Middle Earth and a reproduction of the original gatefold cover.
