Experimental imprint Slip debut the first LP proper from Paul McGuire. Sleep Spindles is a heady mixture of drone and ambient compositions put together in a triptych that begins with Tampered where scratchy cello recordings become either inflated balloons (in the best EVOL tribute) or even dense rain fall roll around the speaker field to dizzying effect. Marshes, for 12 guitars, creates a sinister vibe that could be Tim Hecker's Ravedeath in sleep paralysis, while the title track could be a nod to Sacred Tapes' recent field recordings tape with percussion scrapes and rolls designed to make your teeth itch.
