Barcelona-based producer Rob Clouth again teams up with Leisure System to follow up his stunning 2014 Clockwork Atom EP (a Bleep 2014 favourite) with the Deep Field EP, continuing the imprint’s impressive Gridlock series. Once again Clouth manages to merge jaw-dropping sound design with intuitive dance floor sensibility to devastating effect, with the title cut stitching micro-mechanical detailing to a sturdy 4/4 thump. For remixes, Livity man Kowton simmers down the cut down to its tension-laced, rawest elements, which eventually give way to a blissful clearing, whilst Leeds five-piece Vessels lend their post-rock touches to give the original a more euphoric, dramatic feel.
