Second volume in the Thanks 4 The Tracks U Lost 12” releases from the legendary Chicagoan producers Steve Pointdexter and Jamal Moss aka Hieroglyphic Being joining forces again under the pseudonym Face Of Drums. Out on Moss’s own Mathematics Recordings imprint – a label his founded alongside Music From Mathematics and + + +, this selection of heavy, rustic drums patterns are sourced from lost material salvaged from cassette tapes and DATs made some 20 years ago. These shuffling analogue recordings are heavy in disjointed beats and muffled drums.
