Be With Records answer the prayers of crate-diggers and selectors all over the globe by reissuing an essential record from African popular history by Letta Mbulu. Originally released in South Africa in 1983, In The Music……The Village Never Ends probably would’ve been ranked as one of the best albums of the decade – if only it weren’t so hard to find. Mbulu is a singular force, recalling the soulfulness of Aretha Franklin and the colourful pop sensibilities of Lovesexy-era Prince, and her the album features a diverse selection of styles and impossibly lush production, veering between upbeat disco-pop like ‘The Village’, gorgeous Balearic-paced numbers like ‘Normalizo’, and sweeping soul songs like ‘Nkedama’. The release is officially licensed, mastered for vinyl, and pressed to 180g vinyl for the first time, and features its original (and rarely seen) artwork.
