The cock crows — Bullion is back! The London producer, real name Nathan Jenkins, returns with his first new material in three years. With 2011’s You Drive Me To Plastic for Young Turk, 2012’s Say Arr Ee for R&S and a split for Honest Jon’s in the same year (to just name a few), Jenkins’ discography is fitted with an impressive number of quality labels. Hence why it doesn’t come as a surprise that on Rooster, his first outing for Joe Goddard’s Greco-Roman imprint, he further advances his sound palette. The EP sees him reach to a more synth-pop rooted corner that he previously explored but only now fully executes: cosmic synthesisers meet crazy saxophones, traditional Irish melodies Middle Eastern themes — his crate digger beat stylings will keep old fans happy while winning new ones along the way.
