LA imprint Innovative Leisure present the mesmerising full-length debut of local artist Evan Reiner as Gossamer. Listening to Slayer and Cannibal Corpse when growing up, the Berklee School of Music graduate now creates imaginative electronic soundscapes: Reimer's talents as a guitarist come into their own in the intimate arpeggios of ‘3D Relief’ and gentle folk melodies of ‘Okuma’. Field recordings from all over the globe are at the heart of ‘Automaton’, and the dragging rhythms of ‘Print’ soon makes clear how well it sits within the extended LA trajectory. ‘Truax’ warns of rash thoughts however, exploring the intense effects of inconspicuous drones.
