Ken Camden extends his output for Kranky with another solo LP. Better known as the guitarist for Implodes (another Kranky signee), Dream Factory is Camden’s third solo full-length for the imprint. The album finds him in a typically experimental mindset where his guitar is less of an instrument and more of a sonic launchpad which other ideas spring from. The lines between guitar sounds and synthesised sounds are blurred beyond all recognition on this LP, cuts like Curiosity and Brain Work operate in a kind of nowhere-land between the digital and the raw sounds. Another winning exploration of sounds and textures from Camden.
