Los Angeles screen-printing / music collective Hit & Run present the first in their series of compilations. A key part of the resurgent LA beats scene that birthed the likes of Flying Lotus, Gaslamp Killer, Kutmah and Thundercat, H&R have put together an enviable list of artists for the album. As well as the aforementioned Kutmah and GLK, there are tracks from J Rocc, Daedelus, MNDSGN, Ras G and Seven Davis Jr. As a key component of a style of music that has gone on to find worldwide success this serves as a crucial document of the beats scene’s genesis and is well worth a listen.
