Detroit’s hip hop DJ Michael “House Shoes” Buchanan puts out volume 9 in his House Shoes Presents The Gift Series, a selection of releases set to put out music of pretty much unheard of artists. The DJ and producer who has toured with the likes of Guilty Simpson, Illa J, Slum Village and Elzhi, adds to this series the work of Detroit native, Denmark Vessey. The hip hop producer, who relocated to Chicago in 2008 to release Slutbag Edition with Quelle Chris as Crown Nation, offers up some super smooth hip hop grooves and samples with tracks like ‘Shock Of Your Life’ and ‘Baked Out’ whilst tracks like ‘Low End’ bring a darker, heavier twist to the table.
