Kavain Space, the man credited with inventing footwork with the 1997 track 'Baby Come On' as RP Boo, releases his second album Fingers, Bank Pads & Shoe Prints on Mike Paradina's Planet Mu imprint. This full-length comprised of both archival and new material, and is - as contradictive as this might sound - footwork at its most coherent. Titling the 2013 predecessor Legacy feels vindicated in its own right, as there's something utterly unique about the way RP Boo chops up and reassembles his samples. The soulful pitch-bended vocals of 'Let's Dance Again' look back at classic Chicago house, 'Sleepy' quotes a passionate opera singer and 'Suicide' is a terrifying spoken word account, enhanced by its dissonant instrumental work. Fingers, Bank Pads & Shoe Prints translates attention deficit hyperactivity disorder into sound.
