London's Michael Greene alias Fort Romeau debuts on Gerd Janson’s Running Back imprint. With his release history on Live At Robert Johnson, Ghostly International, Spectral Sound and 100% Silk, the UK house producer needs no further introduction. On his first EP for the Frankfurt label, Greene confesses his love for the 1979 Australian synthesiser Fairlight CMI, advocated by legends such as Stevie Wonder, Peter Gabriel, Herbie Hancock or Kate Bush. It offers variations of three themes with its rhythms situated between deep house and disco: ‘Saku’ opens with an infectious pattern, before the funky bass of ‘Saku II’ takes over and leads to the string-styled melody of ‘Saku III’ — presented both in the Vogel (dedicated to the Fairlight designer Peter Vogel) and Linn version, referring to the LinnDrum machine.
