The Moritz Von Oswald Trio are Tony Allen, drums; Max Loderbauer, synthesizers; Moritz von Oswald, percussion sequencing, synthesizers, additional electronics. This is the band’s first LP with afro-beats icon Tony Allen on board. Having played a string of live shows with the outfit, there is a synergy and thematic consistency to Sounding Lines which is truly remarkable. Fittingly, this esoteric but hugely enjoyable release has found a home on Honest Jon’s. Their unique sound has also been given the golden touch this time round with mixing duties coming courtesy of Ricardo Villalobos.
