Glasgow-originated and London-based house imprint Huntley & Palmers continue their quest of uncovering local talent, presenting the self-titled debut EP of Glasgow duo Hi & Saberhägen. The progressive nature of their soundscapes makes them shine out, but at the same time feel comfortable within the Glasgow electronic scene. Gleaming, aquatic synths flow through the EP perpetually, generating appealing harmonic twists as more layers unfold. ‘Better Love’ with its chopped up and sewed back together vocal tag is the star of the EP, the delicate, multipartite percussion representative of their emerging style, and with their minor second and seventh chords Hi & Saberhägen make sure to pull our heartstrings.
