Three choice tech-house cuts from LA-based producer Manik on Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs’ Nice Age imprint. There is an acid influence going through the style of house that Manik is working with. Rather than churning the typical summer-friendly crowd charmers, his sound has a gritty edge and an eyes-down feel. Closer Silver especially has this hybridised sense of main-stage anthem potential with a true and palpable streak of the underground. Influenced by his time spent in Tokyo, this release is at once futuristic and glossy but unmistakably authentic.
