Floating Points (aka Sam Shepherd) turns his hand to reissuing lost gems on his newly-minted Melodies label. First up Rock Don't Stop by Taxie. Known for his deep crate-digging abilities and curatorial mastery, it is no surprise that this 1979 classic is a beautiful and graceful execution of pop simplicity. The titular track is a thunderous disco wonder-dome complete with arpeggiating flute section. Then there’s I Think I’m Falling In Love where the pedal is lifted for a chilled love-song performed brilliantly by the vocalists. Shepherd said he wanted his new imprint to “Celebrate anthems”, this is a brilliant start.
