Synthpop duo Tanlines return with their dreamy sophomore effort for Matador subsidiary True Panther Sounds. The record was recorded and produced across LA and New York City and features production credits from Grizzly Bear’s Chris Taylor and Patrick Ford. The record is largely based around the life on the road that the pair found themselves immersed in after 2012’s Mixed Emotions. Highlights is a starry-eyed 10 track record which pairs nostalgia for the sounds of the 1990s with a productional execution of the modern day. Cuts like Slipping Away and Invisible Ways bring melody right to the fore, evoking at once the idyllic sounds of Beach House and the nonchalant songwriting of Mac DeMarco.
