Amon Tobin returns with his first new material since 2011 with the Dark Jovian EP, featuring choice recuts from Logos, Eprom and Lee Gamble. Produced in Amon Tobin's own words as "a sort of score for an imaginary movie having binged on space exploration films" and the results are a great translation of this influence. Opener Dark Jovian creates a world of tension with its raw noise mechanisms scratching up against anti-gravity synths creating a frighteningly epic soundtrack piece of pure lost-in-space dread. In Your Own Time continues this theme with Vangelis-styled Blade Runner indebted synths while on the remix front, Logos continues his cold mission with the space station pirate radio distress call grime of Adrastea Contact while Lee Gamble replies with his working of Encounter on Io, his most spacious work yet mixing up the atmosphere of an abandoned alien space station into an endless dub.
