Arthur Jeffes' super-collective of musicians (members of Suede, Gorillaz and Razorlight included) has been performing and recording since 2009. Initially brought together to perform the unforgettable music of Jeffes' late father's band, the Penguin Cafe Orchestra, the project soon evolved into its own music-making entity. They have released three albums since 2011 with this, Umbrella EP 1, making up part of a series of smaller collaborations which preceded the release of their 2017 album The Imperfect Sea. Following a live performance with the unique Japanese producer Cornelius in Japan, the band decided to work with the artist in the studio. The consequent EP, which features reworked PC and Cornelius tracks as well as two brand new, was originally released in 2015 on Erased Tapes as a limited-edition Record Store Day offering.
