Following the latest collaboration of contemporary classical duo Max Cooper and Tom Hodge, London’s Fields records presents four compelling electronic reworks of the EP’s track ‘Remnants’. The artists taking on the pristine piano and field recording sounds are Warp stalwarts Plaid, Italian duo Hunter/Game, London producer Dominik Gentry aka Attaque and Satirist. Plaid max out the original’s harmonic layers with added synth chords and infuse a syncopated beat of thick kick drums. Hunter/Game opt for a straightforward 4/4 rhythm that’s still sensitive to the song’s fragile nature, building up anticipation with fast moving hi-hats and arpeggios, whereas Attaque opts for a slower, more ambient turnout, paying homage to the beautiful piano plunking - something Satirist takes into consideration too before introducing a fragmented percussive structure.
