Whenever anything gets stamped with the emblem of Alexander Nut’s Eglo Records imprint, it is usually top-shelf stuff. This EP from Melbourne’s Kirkis is no exception. It is a group effort fronted by multidisciplinary creative Matthew Kirkis. Their sound is one of cosmic, fragmented jazz and dreamy buckled psychedelica unlike anything else on the Eglo roster. The title track and Helium evoke the wildly genre-busting sounds of Flying Lotus while Vovo and Kirkis Runs the Voodoo Town would not have sounded out of place on the latest Kendrick Lamar LP.
