Frankfurt’s René Pawlowitz, best known for his work as Shed, revisits his WK7 moniker for another glorious rave-inspired 12’’. The German techno producer invented his WK7 and Head High aliases to find an outlet for his classic house music creations. WK7 stands for Wohnkomplex 7 (living district number 7), an area in the East German town of Schwedt that Pawlowitz lived in during the 90s, and ‘Washer’ takes us right back to that time. It arrives via his programmatic Power House imprint, and respectively recalls the powerful kick drum sound that characterised a lot of releases in the Dutch techno scene, accordingly showcased on the single’s killer A side. Its playful pattern will undoubtedly get you moving — so will the percussion focussed B side, with its ideological vocal loop functioning as a reminder of what it’s all about.
