British techno stalwart Blawan expands on his TERNESC club night by establishing a fresh new imprint of the same name with the Warm Tonal Touch EP. Despite the release's title, here sees the UK artist exercise his penchant for grainy, modular productions across four pieces of grating techno malice. On the A-side, ‘Talatone’ rolls out a bruising stomp set into a hollow chord, followed by the dry, brittle expanse of ‘Fantanyl’. On the other side, the break-neck ‘Slow Mick’ is clouded piece of dance floor devilry, whilst final piece ‘Blue Bottle’ takes a more experimental tone with its modulating chord and fluttering drum work.
