Americana roots-rock titans Alabama Shakes return with their much awaited sophomore record to 2012’s earth-conquering debut Boys & Girls. The band have found new ground but maintained their distinctive colourful sound on this LP. Tracks like 'Don’t Wanna Fight' and 'The Greatest' incorporate areas of post-punk and Harlem soul while 'Shoegaze' and 'Gemini' find the band in a cloudy, sprawling mode of songwriting which fully showcases their capability as a group. 'Sound & Colour' is most definitely in a move in to unchartered waters for the band but they come off on top. A genre-melding followup suitable of stadium status.
