UK-born and Berlin-based techno producer Tommy Four Seven launches his 47 imprint with the first release in a series of 4-track various artists EP — all including a track by the label boss himself. Set to feature guest DJs from the eponymous party, a quarterly events series at Berlin's Arena Club, this first episode unites releases from UK’s Matthew Watt aka Killawat, Swiss techno producer Isolated Lines and Madrid’s Kwartz. The banging Berlin vibes are the golden thread of the split release: Tommy Four Seven opens with the hard-hitting ‘131’, re-appropriating acid melodies; Kwartz takes over with frenetic syncopation, Killawatt’s ‘Tensile’ builds on a simple, yet hypnotic high-frequency two chord progression, and Isolated Lines finishes off with the reverberant sounds of a great space, its clinking ambient sounds unsettling the atmosphere.
