Marking his first LP for Bella Union for 3 years, US multi-instrumentalist Peter Broderick steps forward with an EP made up of time spent recording in the small town of Lucerne in central Switzerland. A world of genres and sounds are brought in to Broderick’s universe on Colours Of The Night. From the pop-tinged melodies of the titular opener to the almost hymnal brilliance of Love Defines you, the record puts Broderick’s songwriting at the fore and further supports the view that he is one of contemporary music’s most overlooked writers and performers. Peter’s hiatus up to this point was down to debilitating illness that forced him to move back to Oregon and reassess his work as an artist, Colours Of The Night is a the timeless sound of a creative force returning to their calling.
