Former Battles member Tyondai Braxton releases his first long-player for 6 years for Nonesuch following 2009's Central Market. The concept was originally debuted at New York’s Guggenheim Museum in 2013 as a multimedia piece in collaboration with Danish architect Uffe Surland Van Tams. There is an unmissable dimension of angular, shape-based composition on the record as sounds are abstracted and distorted in to new and beguiling contortions. Cuts like 'Scout1' and 'Outpost' might circulate around familiar rhythmical patterns but they seldom settle. The noises are stretched and reassembled to make an album that is rewarding, interesting and fantastically fun.
