Two years after his self-titled debut EP on Anthony Naples’ Prohibito imprint, Canadian producer Ian Wyatt aka Local Artist readies the Feelings EP for fledgling imprint Rhythm Section International. Each of the three cuts represent different approaches taken on a heavily dub influenced sound; beginning with the brittle hi-hat ticks of the title cut where spongy dub-chords ricochet off into the distance. Next up, ‘Ozone’ puts a funkier slant on the sound with its use of more organic-leaning instrumentation building a woozy shuffle, whereas ‘PLACE 1’ on the flip dons a heads-down, streamlined drive with muffled bass notes and distant vocal whiffs.
