Green Gums (Dom Butler of Factory Floor and L/F/D/M man Richard Smith) debut on Jaime William’s and Oscar Powell’s Diagonal with a killer industrial EP. It’s not the first time these art school buddies are joining forces for a project following such shredded aesthetics — as Bronze Teeth, they’ve put out two 12’’ on Diagonal in 2014. The new project has a clearer focus on tracks. ‘ZoZoMoNo’ makes due with a minimal techno beat and roughen its surface with frazzled acid style patterns. ‘Dag’ comes as a wall of overdriven madness, and with the hi-hats and snares cutting sharply through the mix on ‘Cestoda’s Labyrinth’, the pair reintroduce textural depth.
