New 12” from Richard Spaven - the London based drummer who has worked with the likes of Jose James, 4Hero, DJ Vadim and The Cinematic Orchestra. Releasing his debut EP Spaven’s 5ive on Jazz Re:freshed back on 2010, he released his debut album Whole Other on Fine Line Records in 2014. This double a-side features the track ‘SideIISide’ from that album, with a killer dubstep remix from Mala on the first side and the album’s original track on the second. His drumming is supreme, with steady off-kilter but perfectly timed beats in charge of the heavy bassline which underlines the track, whilst smooth, loitering vocals melt over the crisp rhythm.
