Los Angeles institution Hit+Run press up a highly limited, deluxe 10” version of Kutmah’s 2011 debut LP Closure. Originally only available on cassette, Closure draws together a range of material recorded between Los Angeles and London between the years of 2004 – 2011 and perfectly exhibits the grainy foundations of this now lynch pin beat-maker. Anyone craving jazz tinged, low-slung West Coast haze should look no further than the spongy chords of ‘Walking With Daisies’, whilst ‘Leaving’ is a move in the other direction with its distorted, EBM inflicted synth arpeggios. The Military drum rolls and deadpan vocals of ‘Dead Bodies’ give off a particularly nihilistic feel whereas the lo-fi, cyborg ghetto funk of ‘Vaginina Skratch’ gives us a glimpse into the LA Native’s darker side.
