Following his debut album Magazine 13., Cologne’s DJ Barnt presents two lengthy remixes of his work. Magazine 131 comes via his Magazine imprint that he co-runs with Crato and Jens-Uwe Beyer who both set their hands to the 12’’: whereas Crato made over the cover art, Beyer delivers a sub-weighty reinterpretation of ‘Cherry Red’ that creates an eerie atmosphere with its lingering synths and propulsive snares and hi-hats. These percussive elements stand out even more against their ambient foundation in the rework of Italian producer duo Tale Of Us, joining forces with Recondite for another urging remix of the original.
