Marking the first release in Glitterbeat’s Hidden Music series (a collection documenting lesser known movements within global musical cultures) we are taken to Hanoi for a collection of reflective and deeply meditative recordings from the summer of 2014 courtesy of Ian Brennan (Tinariwen, Malawi Mouse Boys, The Good Ones). Ranging from the rural ritualistic melodies of For The Fallen to the looser field recording sounds of The Rice Drum, this collection is both blindingly authentic but carefully curated and polished to give a genuine but tailored taste of a far-removed sound.
