Reissue of the 1969 release To Love Somebody on the Netherlands-based Vinyl only imprint Music On Vinyl. This release sees the singer-songwriter and pianist in a slightly different light to the usual sound associated with the legendary jazz and blues artist, and features Doris Willingham and Virdia Crawford as backing vocalists. ‘Suzanne’ kicks off with some smooth funk guitar whilst ‘Revolution (Part 1)’ and ‘Revolution (Part 2)’ (released as a single the same year as The Beatles track of the same name) has a 60’s rock & roll feel to it. The album also features the Simone classic ‘To Love Somebody’ as well as her version of the Bob Dylan single ‘The Times They Are A-Changin'.
