Elias Bender Rønnenfelt is better known for his work with Matador’s Icelandic punk trailblazers Iceage but he has operated sporadically under the Marching Church moniker for a number of years. With a band made up of Kristian Emdal and Anton Rothstein of Lower, Cæcilie Trier (Choir of Young Believers), Bo H. Hansen (Hand of Dust, Sexdrome) and Frederikke Hoffmeier (Puce Mary), This World Is Not Enough is a soaringly theatrical record flickering between the thespian balladry of Your Father’s Eyes to the invigoratingly rough pop melodies of cuts like Living In Doubt and King Of Song. Another victory for Iceland’s new generation of songwriting prowess.
