Scouse pop deviants first arrived on to our scene in 2000 with this incredible splash of art-rock mastery re-pressed 16 years later by Domino for a new crowd. This is guitar music reconfigured by Liverpudlian characters who take that city’s proud pop lineage and contort it with an ear for tight melody, deeply affecting vocals, flourishes of trumpet, piano, organ and tambourine and an uncanny rhythm section.
