Oren Ambarchi celebrates the 10th Anniversary of a milestone release in his sprawling ouvre, the polyrhythmic tendencies of Hubris.

Reissued on his own Black Truffle imprint it was produced with the help of a who's who of artists on and associated with the album's original home, Pita Rehberg's Editions Mego. A staggering lineup indeed featuing Crys Cole, Mark Fell, Will Guthrie, Arto Lindsay, Jim O'Rourke, Konrad Sprenger, Joe Talia, Ricardo Villalobos, Keith Fullerton Whitman all helping on production duties and Stephen O'Malley on design.

While that sounds like a potential too many cooks situation, the real gift here is the music they have sculpted together. Built of two long-form tracks and one short excerpt mid way through, Hubris is a hypnotic journey into the mind of Ambarchi; woodblock techno structures that slowly build into proper psych freakouts reminiscent of the meandering endless days spent in production jams of Robert Grohl during his recording time in Conny Plank's studio.
