Two titans of UK electro in Silicon Scally and Fleck ESC team up for a boisterous split EP on Central Processing Unit entitled Slip. No strangers to the CPU world, Scally and Fleck make for natural teammates, with their own tendencies to stretch, pull, and bend the classic Detroit acid sound playing off each other quite nicely. Scally leads off with a pair of tracks that blend buzzing, white hot arpeggiated synth runs with sturdy kicks that could punch holes in the drywall while Fleck’s back half gets a little funkier with rhythms that fall off the grid in surprisingly satisfying ways.
