Andrew Field-Pickering aka Maxmillion Dunbar releases under the shortened pseudonym Max D. One half of Beautiful Swimmers (the other half being Ari Goldman) Field-Pickering has previously released on labels such as RVNG Intl, The Trilolgy Tapes, Hot Haus Recs and Ramp, with this solo release, Shaping EP, going out on Amsterdam based artist Jordan GCZ’s Off Minor Recordings. ‘Circle Bubbles’ breaks the EP in with high energy wonky house claps and clicks while the more stripped back ‘Flex Cathedral’ draws the mood back with warped synth-scapes and clattering cymbals. ‘Immunity’’s electronic glitches and bounce are reminiscent of Squarepusher-esque electronica with the final track ‘She’ furthering the laser escapade with warm chordal splatterings.
