Clive Barker’s body horror cult classic film Hellraiser is already an exercise in gruesome campiness, but imagine if his original idea for a score had come to fruition. It’s said that industrial pioneers Coil completed a full suite that was ultimately shelved by the studio, though most of it has gone unheard until now. Spiritual third member Danny Hyde recently tracked down tapes that put (most of) the rest of the pieces together, and the end result is of course a stirring and disturbing listen in equal measure even some 40 years on from the original recordings.
